ELEANOR R. SCHEER, 80

Services for Eleanor R. Scheer, 80 who died July 17, 1992 at Arbor Manor in Fremont were Monday, July 20 at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Rev. Lee Milligan officiated. Burial was in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Eleanor R. Grimm Scheer was born October 19, 1911 at Elkhorn, Nebraska. She was a 1929 graduate of Arlington High School.

She moved to a farm south of Arlington as a child and following her marriage to Erwin “Jack” Scheer on September 10, 1936 at Omaha, she continued to live in Arlington. During World War II, she worked at Glen L. Martin Bomber Factory in Omaha.

She was a homemaker and bookkeeper at her husband’s service station in Arlington. She then worked at the Arlington Grocery Store in produce until 1982. She moved to Arbor Manor in 1986.

She was a member of Arlington Community Church and Arlington Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, February 6, 1962; her parents, Ernst and Marta Sachs Grimm and a brother, Ernest.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry of Fremont and David of Arlington; a sister, Lillian Grimm of Fremont and five grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Aaron Scheer, Andrew Scheer, Ronald Scheer, April Scheer, Kristin Scheer and Gerald Scheer.

Memorials may go to the Arlington Volunteer Fire Department or the American Heart Fund.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
