ESTHER M. SCHEER, 80

Services for Esther M. Scheer, 80 of Arlington who died March 27, 1991 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County were Monday, April 1 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington.

Esther M. Dickmeyer Scheer was born March 31, 1910 in rural Arlington. She lived her entire life in the Arlington area.

She married Oscar H. Scheer may 17, 1943 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church near Arlington. They farmed northeast of Arlington until moving to Arlington in 1958.

She was a life member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and was a member of the St. Paul’s Quilters and the Bell Creek Sewing Circle.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar on February 18, 1990. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Sophie Plugge Dickmeyer; a son, Verdell Scheer and a brother, Alfred Dickmeyer.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Marlin and Joni Scheer of Arlington and Wayne and Linda Scheer of Fremont; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Scheer of Aurora, Colorado; a sister, Irma (Mrs. Wilbur) Grefe of Arlington; four grandsons and two granddaughters and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Randell Scheer, Gregg Scheer, Brian Scheer, Kendal Scheer, Daryl Mueller and Gerald Ruskamp.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington was in charge of arrangements.

ESTHER MARIE SCHEER

Esther Marie Scheer, the daughter of henry and Sophie (Plugge) Dickmeyer, was born March 31, 1910 at rural Arlington, Nebraska. She was baptized on April 24, 1910 and confirmed into the Lutheran faith on April 13, 1924 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington.

Esther was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a member of the St. Paul’s Quilters. She and her husband farmed northeast of Arlington until 1958 when they moved into Arlington.

She married Oscar H. Scheer on may 17, 1931 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on February 18, 1990.

Esther passed from this life on Wednesday, march 27, 1991 at Memorial Hospital of Dodge County in Fremont, Nebraska, at the age of 80 years, 11 months and 26 days.

She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, marlin and Joni Scheer of Arlington, Wayne and linda Scheer of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Phyllis Scheer of Aurora, Colorado; sister, Mrs. Wilbur (Irma) Grefe of Arlington; 4 grandsons, 2 granddaughters and 7 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Verdell; and a brother, Alfred Dickmeyer.
