SERVICES FOR MRS. SCHEER WEDNESDAY

Mrs. Friedareke Scheer, a former Arlington resident, passed away on Sunday, December 19, at the Fremont Care Center.

Friedareke Scheer, nee Hilgenkamp, was born on March 29, 1886 at Arlington, Nebraska to Herman Hilgenkamp and Johanna nee Schrepel.

She was baptized on May 2, 1886 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Arlington, by Pastor J. Hilgendorf. She was confirmed in the same church and remained a life-long member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Friedareke Hilgenkamp and Edward Scheer were married on December 5, 1906 and lived on a farm near Nickerson, Nebraska for nearly forty years. Most of the retirement years were spent in Arlington. The past few years she resided in Fremont.

Four children were born to this couple. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant son, Harry; two daughters, Mrs. Lilly Sperling and Mrs. Meta Scheer.

She is survived by one son, Lloyd, of Cook, Nebraska; also, nine grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Frieda Hilgenkamp and Elsie Hilgenkamp of Fremont; and two brothers, Martin of Fremont and Albert of Wahoo.
