Carol E. Anderson, 83, of Arlington, died Thursday, March 30, 2000, at her home.

Services were Monday, April 3, 2000, at the Arlington Community Church. The Rev. Lynn Martin officiated. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Carol E. Anderson was born Oct. 13, 1916, to John and Mary (Nelson) Nelson in Genoa. She grew up in the Genoa and St. Edward area, and graduated from St. Edward High School.

On March 27, 1937, she married Oscar E. Anderson in Newman Grove.

She moved to Arlington in 1955. She was formerly employed by the Douglas County Annex, now the Thomas Fitzgerald Veterans Home in Omaha, for 10 years. She then worked as a nurse's aid for 15 years at the Fremont Area Medical Center, retiring in 1981.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Janet Anderson of Cedar Bluffs; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Jim Keenan of Arlington, Mary Jean and Delbert Hively of Fremont and Marjorie and Douglas Lange of Grand Island; a daughter-in-law, Vickie Anderson of Fremont; two sisters, Ruby Olson and Marjorie Hultman, both of Arlington; 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oscar, who died Jan. 2, 1971; a son, Tom; two brothers, Kenneth and Albert Nelson; and five sisters, Mildred McKelvey, Alice Brandt, Lena Kissel, Verna Arnold and Esther Thomas.

Memorials are suggested to the Arlington Community Church.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
