HENRY F. SCHEER DIED SUNDAY AT BLAIR HOSPITAL

Henry F. Scheer, a resident of 810 North 15th street, Blair, died at the Blair Hospital Sunday, August 8th. He was 85 years old, having been born November 2, 1890 at Fontanelle, Nebraska. He was a lifetime resident of Washington County.

He grew up on a farm near Fontanelle and he was married to Mabel Schultz at Hooper, Nebraska on September 17, 1919. The couple farmed all their lives until retirement, living in Washington and Burt Counties. They moved to Blair in 1964 to begin their retirement.

He was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in the west part of Washington County.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel and by a daughter, Lorraine, now Mrs. Ralph McHenry of Scribner. There are four grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

A brother, Walter and a sister, Emma Scheer, reside at Winslow, Nebraska. Another sister, Mrs. Leonora Wilkening, resides at Fremont.

Funeral services were held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church on Wednesday afternoon and burial was made at the church cemetery. The Rev. Paul Kern conducted the service and the Bendorf Funeral Home of Blair was in charge of arrangements.

Nephews of the deceased were pallbearers. They were Alan Panning, Melvin Scheer, Clarence Wilkening, Garland Schultz, John Koziel and Aaron Niebaum.

They were six honorary pallbearers: Julius Weber, John Reyzlik, Ray Johnson, D.C. Lallman, Garlen Tuma and Charles Wrich.
