Harry N. Rugger, 90

Harry N. Rugger, 90, of Blair, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair.

Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 26, at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, March 25, at Roeder Mortuary, 108th and Maple streets, in Omaha.

Harry N. Rugger was born July 27, 1922, in Floyd, Iowa, to Edward and Sophie (Hanson) Rugger.

He served in the infantry in World War II as a paratrooper. He was awarded two Bronze Stars.

On June 13, 1959, he married Rose Marie Gerstenberger in Iowa.

Mr. Rugger retired from the Rath Packing Company.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose Marie; sons and daughters-in-law, Louis and Mardie of Blair and James and Pam of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter, Rebecca of Gardnerville, Nev.; two grandchildren, Jessica Shannon and Brian Knight; and three great-grandsons, Christian, Andrew and Dustin.

He was preceded in death by his brother, John.
