Harry Wrich Dies At The Age of 80 Years

Services for Harry C. Wrich will be on Friday, December 12, at 10:30 a.m. in the First Methodist Church in Blair. Mr. Wrich had an apparent heart attack while he was bowling at the Husker Bowl Tuesday evening in Blair. He died at the Blair Hospital a short time later. Rev. Gordon Patterson will officiate.

Burial will be in the German Cemetery with Campbell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A Prayer Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening at 7:30 p.m.

Harry C. Wrich was born in Kennard on September 4, 1900. He was 80 years old at the time of his death. He married Helen Hansen on June 6, 1923 at Kennard. The couple farmed near Kennard until they retired in January of 1969. They moved to the Sutton Place Apartments in Blair.

Since his retirement Mr. Wrich has worked at driving school bus and most recently was working for the Taylor Oil Company in Blair. He has worked for Taylors for the past ten years.

Surviving Mr. Wrich is his wife Helen of Blair; a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Janette) Schneider of Kennard; Virgil Wrich of Blair; William Wrich of Kennard, 13 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a sister, Hilda Wrich, of Blair.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wrich observed their 50th wedding anniversary in May of 1973.

Besides Mr. Wrich’s interest in farming he was active in the First Grace Church of Kennard and is presently a member of the First Methodist Church in Blair. Harry was a charter member of the First Soil Conservation District in Nebraska. This was formed in 1935. He served on the Commission for 35 years. The District is now known as a Natural Resources District. He has been active in Grange and Ak-Sar-Ben over the years. His hobbies included bowling and hunting.

Memorials can be given to the German Cemetery and the First Methodist Church in Blair.

Pallbearers will be David Schneider, Richard Schneider, Daniel Schneider, Gene Wrich, Roger Wrich, Brad Wrich, Dwight Wrich, Randy Larsen and Rick Larsen.
