Irene L. Wrich, 86

Irene L. Wrich of Gretna died Saturday, June 10, 2006, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services were June 14 at Resurrection Lutheran Church of Gretna. Interment was at Prospect Hill Cemetery in Elkhorn.

Irene Lena (Logemann) Wrich was born Jan. 14, 1920, in Bennington to Fred and Meta (Micheel) Logemann. She grew up on the family farm between Bennington and Elkhorn. She attended country school and Elkhorn High School. Much of her time was spent working on the farm with her father.

After school, she worked at several local cafes before going to Clearview Home, where she worked in the kitchen. She later worked as a lab technician at Burns Biotech (now Schering-Plough) until she retired in 1985. She lived in Blair and Elkhorn before moving to Gretna in 1980.

She was a longtime member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Elkhorn and, most recently, was a member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Gretna. She enjoyed her flower garden, sewing, cooking, and canning. Her greatest joy came from the family’s latest addition, her great-grandson, Colton.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Glenn and Margaret Wrich of Blair; two grandsons and their wives; great-grandson; and a sister, Norma Manske of Wahoo.

Hadan-Golden-Reichmuth Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
