Sophie M. Wrigg, 94

Kennard native Sophie M. Wrigg, 94, of Blair, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services were Monday, Jan. 13, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard. Interment was in the Kennard Cemetery.

Sophie M. Wrigg was born Feb. 16, 1908 in Kennard to August and Lena (Boock) Schumacher. She was baptized Sept. 5, 1909, in Bennington, and confirmed on April 23, 1922, at Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard.

She had attended the LeCrone School. On Feb. 19, 1930, she married Claus Wrigg in Omaha. The couple farmed south of Kennard for several years. Mrs. Wrigg moved to Blair in April 1990.

She enjoyed doing “word find” and putting together puzzles. She was a lifelong member of Emmaus Lutheran Church.

She is survived by three daughters and a son-in-law, Sharon Rayburn and Betty Reeh, both of Blair, and Vivian and Dick Wiblishouser of Omaha; nine grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a sister, Hilda Mueller of Blair, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded death by her husband; a son, James; four brothers and three sisters.

Memorials are suggested to Emmaus Lutheran Church.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
