MRS. ANNA WRIGHT DIES AFTER ILLNESS OF SEVERAL YEARS

(Sunday’s Omaha Bee, Dec. 5)

Mrs. Anna Wright, wife of Joel H. Wright, Jr., manager of the Nebraska-Iowa Grain Company, died at her home, 5020 Chicago street, at 6 o’clock Friday evening, aged 36 years. She had been in ill health from an affection of the heart for several years, but her illness became so acute as seriously to alarm her friends only a short time before her death.

Mrs. Wright is survived by her husband and one child, Joel H. Wright 2d, aged 5 years.

Funeral services will be conducted at the home, at noon Sunday, Rev. Arthur E. Marsh, rector of St. Mary’s Episcopal Church at Blair, officiating. Interment will be made at Blair, where May 25, 1905, Mr. and Mrs. Wright were married by Rev. Mr. Marsh. Pall-bearers will be Frank Frahm, L.E. Doty, Eugene Duval, W.W. Johnson, John McDonald and Charles Morgan.

Mrs. Wright’s maiden name was Anna Pound. She was born at Tipton, Iowa, but in her early childhood her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albert Pound, took her from there to Blair, where she made her home until her marriage. She was a graduate from the Blair High School in June, 1895, and that same year she entered Rockford Academy at Rockford, Ill., where she remained as a student for several years.

Wright, Mrs. Joel H. Jr.

Mrs. Joel H. Wright, jr. died at her home at 5020 Chicago St. Omaha, at 6 o’clock last Friday evening from a heart trouble she had suffered from for several years. Her sister, Mrs. W.J. Cook, of this city, was present when the end came, which wasn’t expected. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. A.E. Marsh, of this city, at the family residence at 12 o’clock Sunday. The body was brought here in an auto hearse, arriving at about 2:30, for interment in the Blair cemetery by the side of her mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. A.O. Pound. Besides the husband and only son, Joel III, she leaves four sisters Mrs. W.J. Cook and Mrs. D.Z. Mummert, of this city, Mrs. Ed F. Cook, of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Mrs. Fred Newton, of McCool Junction, Neb. Anna Pound was born at Tipton, Ia., Dec. 16th, 1877, and would therefore have been 38 had she lived a few more days. She came here with her parents in early childhood and was educated in the Blair city schools, having been graduated with the class of ’97. She attended Rockford college for several years and was married here to Joel H. Wright, jr., May 25th, 1915, by Rev. A.E. Marsh, who also conducted her funeral service. Hers was a finial and attractive personality and her many friends in Blair mourn with the grief stricken family her early death.
