BERTHA ANDERSON OF GOOD SHEPHERD DIED FRIDAY

Mrs. Bertha E. Anderson, a resident of the Good Shepherd Home for the past 8 years, died there last Friday, January 24th. She was 90 years of age.

Mrs. Anderson was born at Kennard on February 22, 1884 to Mr. and Mrs. John Japp. She graduated from the Kennard High School in 1900 and later attended a School of Business at Grand Island. She was baptized and a member of the Emmaus lutheran Church in Kennard.

On June 14, 1905 Bertha "Laura" Eleanor Japp became the bride of Edward Sherman Anderson, and the couple spent their active life as farmers in the Kennard area. Her husband and a son, Nels preceded her in death.

She is survived by two sons and two daughters.

The sons are Roscoe Anderson of Kennard and John Anderson, also of Kennard. The daughters are Mrs. Elvina Helsley, of Castleford, Idaho and Mrs. Leola Kemp of Gillette, Wyoming.

A brother, Ernest Japp, also of Gillette, Wyoming survives. There are 9 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at the Emmaus Lutheran Church in Kennard Tuesday afternoon, January 28th. The Rev. Joseph Myers conducted the service. Burial under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary in Blair was made in the Kennard Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Ray Rosenbaum, Loren Reining, Duane Helsley, Bill, Bob and Jerry Anderson.
