Henry Wright Is Buried

Funeral services were held Monday, March 14, at Campbell Funeral Home, followed by graveside military rites at the Blair Cemetery for Henry B. Wright, 70, who died at Lutheran Hospital in Omaha on March 11, 1983, following a short illness. The Rev. Dale Westadt conducted the services.

Henry Brown Wright was born June 14, 1912, in Columbia, Louisiana to Reuben Ellis and Martye Meredith Wright. He married Mary Beth McQuarrie.

A painter, he had been a resident of Blair nearly 30 years at one time. He was residing at 2536 Marcy in Omaha at the time of his death.

He was a long-time employee of the Fontenelle Hotel and Logan Apartments. He was a veteran of World War II and served his country from August 20, 1943 to January 11, 1946.

He was a past member of the Fort Calhoun American Legion Post. He had held the office of commander and adjutant there.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald R. Wright, U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth of Omaha; and a son, Henry G. Wright, Durango, Colo. His mother-in-law, Mrs. Maxon S. McQuarrie, Blair and sisters, Mrs. Karl (Virginia) Kraft, Spring, Texas; and Mrs. Dee Reed, Shreveport, Louisiana, also survive him.

Pallbearers were Bill Wilson, Ray Rosenbaum, Bill Sienknecht, Fred Gilliland, Gus Boyce and Albert Jensen.

Clare Cowing was organist.

Memorials may be made to the Blair V.F.W.

Campbell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
