Marvin G. Wright, 84

Former Blair resident Marvin G. Wright, 84, of Stanton, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008, at the Stanton Health Center.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 9 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment will be held at a later date. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church.

Marvin Glenn Wright was born May 21, 1923, in Whitman, to Arlington and Lola (Clark) Wright. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving from August of 1941 until October of 1945.

On May 30, 1947, he married Ardene Steil in Omaha.

Mr. and Mrs. Wright lived in California and also ranched in the Sand Hills and did contracting, prior to having a trucking company called Nebraskaland Trucking.

They also lived in Grand Island, Norfolk, Madison, Bloomfield, Blair, and Battle Creek before moving to Stanton in 2004.

The Wrights love for family led them to raising two of their grandchildren.

Mr. Wright was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair, where he was a trustee.

He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen Wright of Logan, Utah, and Richard and Kris Wright of Stanton; daughter, Cindy Kryscio of Tennessee; five grand-children; one great-grandchild; sister, Delma Haag of Marysville, Calif.; and brother, Tilbert of Kearney.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardene, and a brother, Arnold.
