GERHARDT SCHEER DIED AT THE AGE OF 67

Services for 67 year old Gerhardt E. Scheer were held on Monday afternoon, July 1st, at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. The Reckmeyer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements with Rev. Donald Gesterling officiating.

Mr. Scheer died Friday morning at an Omaha hospital.

He was born Oct. 12, 1906, at Arlington and lived in the area all his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. Wilma Scheer, Arlington; brothers, Alfred, Wallace, Oscar, Otis, and Obert, all of Arlington; sisters, Mrs. Esther Grebe and Mrs. Helen Geisler, both of Fremont; Mrs. Frieda Walkenhorst, Arlington; Mrs. Arthur Walter (Lilly) Anderson.

Honorary pallbearers were Duane Scheer, Glen Echtenkamp, Orvin, Wayne and James Scheer and Ted Walkenhorst. George Bluma was organist.

Memorials have been established for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church building fund.

Burial was in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

GERHARDT E. SCHEER Gerhardt E. Scheer was born October 12, 1906 on a farm near Arlington, Nebraska. He was the son of Fred Scheer and Wilma Schormann Scheer.

He spent his entire life in the Arlington community. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church at Arlington and Veteran of World War II.

He is survived by his mother; 5 brothers, Alfred, Wallace, Oscar, Otis and Obert Scheer, all of Arlington; 5 sisters, Mrs. Esther Grebe of Fremont, Mrs. Frieda Walkenhorst of Arlington, Mrs. Helen Geisler of Fremont, Mrs. Arthur (Wilma) Krohn of Hooper, Mrs. Walter (Lilly) Krohn of Omaha and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father.
