SERVICES HELD SATURDAY FOR MRS. MABEL SCHEER

Funeral services were held Saturday morning, April 21st, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Hooper, Rev. Rodney Meske officiating, for Mrs. Mabel Scheer (age 80) of 810 N. 15th St., Blair, Nebraska, who passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 18th, at the Blair Hospital following a short illness. The daughter of Carl and Dorothy Schultz, she was born in rural Scribner on April 24, 1899 and lived in that community until her marriage on September 17, 1919 to Henry F. Scheer, Jr. Together they farmed in Washington and Burt Counties until they retired to Blair in 1964. Mr. Scheer preceded his wife in death in 1976. Mrs. Scheer was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church east of Winslow, Herman Extension Club; and the Christian Bible Class of Blair. She was employed by the Blue Ribbon for several years. Mr. and Mrs. Scheer observed their Golden Wedding Anniversary at Immanuel Lutheran Church in 1969.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Lorraine) McHenry of Scribner; one brother, Charles W. Schultz of Fremont; one sister, Mrs. Marie Ferguson of Fremont; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and her husband.

Pallbearers for the service were Raymond Johnson, Clair McKinnes, Arlan Panning, Donald Rockwell, Garlan Schultz and Clarence Wilkening. The service was under the direction of Warne Funeral Home, Hooper, and interment was in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery.
