MARGARET W. SCHEER, 92

Margaret W. Scheer, 92, of Arlington, died Friday, June 23, 2006, at the A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services are 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 28, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of Arlington, with interment at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 27, at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held at the church on Wednesday, one hour prior to services.

Margaret W. (Schmidt) Scheer was born June 9, 1914, in Arlington, the community in which she would live her entire life.

On Feb. 19, 1939, she married Gilbert W.H.Scheer at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Scheer was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she served on the Altar Guild, was Flowers Service chairman, and participated in the quilting group at the church. She was one of the ladies who had embroidered the altar paraments at the church. She was a member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and was a past secretary, treasurer, and service chairman. She also had been a member of the Riverview Extension Club.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Mary Scheer of Arlington; two daughters and sons-in-law, Emily and Eldon Neujahr of Liberty and Virginia and Rhea Larsen of Bennington; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Darlene Schmidt of Arlington; and a sister, Lillian Royuk of Arlington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert, in 2002; a brother, Paul Schmidt; and a sister, Irma Royuk.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Margaret Wilhelmena Scheer, the daughter of William and Amelia (Stork) Schmidt, was born June 9, 1914, at Arlington, Nebraska, where she was a lifetime resident. Margaret married Gilbert W.H. Scheer on Feb. 19, 1939 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Schurch at Arlington. Gilbert died Nov. 3, 2002. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, the Altar Guild, Flowers Service Chairman, the church quilting group, and was on the committee that did the embroidery work on the altar paraments. She was a member and past secretary, treasurer and service chairman of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and was a former member of the Riverview Extension Club.

Margaret passed from this life on Friday, June 23, 2006, at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont, Nebraska, at the age of 92 years and 14 days. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Warren and Mary Scheer of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Emily and Eldon Neujahr of Liberty, Nebraska, and Virginia and Rhea Larsen of Bennington, Nebraska; brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Darlene Schmidt of Arlington; sister, Lillian Royuk of Arlington; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a brother, Paul Schmidt; and a sister, Irma Royuk.

The family of Margaret Scheer would like to thank you for your kindness and sympathy, and invite you to lunch at the Parish Hall immediately following the committal service.
