B. Arlene McNew, 81, of Fort Calhoun, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013, in Omaha.

Services will be 1 pm, Friday, March 29, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Visitation is 4-8 p.m, Thursday, March 28, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery.

B. Arlene Kraemer was born April 10, 1931, in Dixon to Albert and Irma (Hughes) Kraemer.

She loved to crochet afghans for her family, play cards and collect owls.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert McNew Sr.; daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Jerry Wiese and Marcy Clausen, all of Fort Calhoun, and Jackie and Bob Mann of Blair; son, Robert McNew Jr. of Fort Calhoun; brothers and sisters-in-law, Marlon and Shirley Kraemer of Laurel and Don and Luanne Kraemer of Norfolk; sisters and brother-in-law, Marietta and Jim Linn of Laurel and Dianne and Richard Lorenzen of Blair; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church or Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue Squad.
