Charlotte M. Odle, 93

Charlotte M. Odle, 93, of Hooper, died Aug. 19, 2010, at the Hooper Care Center.

Services were Tuesday, Aug. 24, at Faith United Methodist Church in Hooper. Interment was in the Herman Cemetery.

Charlotte M. Osburn was born April 27, 1917, on a farm near Herman to Dennis and Ella (Longwell) Osburn.

She moved to California during World War II to work in the shipyards. There, she met Merida Odle and on May 5, 1944, they were married in San Francisco, Calif.

After the couple moved back, her husband began working in the Spiker area. After three years, the couple began farming for themselves on a farm west of Spiker. They farmed for 18 years, then quit in 1967 but stayed on the farm while Mr. Odle worked for co-ops in Winslow and Nickerson. They moved into Hooper in 1990.

Mrs. Odle was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Hooper and was a former member of the Alder Grove Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a 20-year member of the Get-Together Club.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, James and Sandra Odle of Hooper and Terry and Janice Odle of Chatfield, Minn.; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merida, in 2007; a son, Robert; daughter-in-law, Susan; granddaughter, Amy; sisters and a brother.

Memorials are suggested to the Faith United Methodist Church and Alder Grove Methodist Church.

Ludvigsen Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
