ARCHIEBALD H. SCHLAPFER, 79

Services for Archiebald H. Schlapfer, 79 of Arlington who died March 20, 1994 at A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont are 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 22 at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Rev. Lee J. Milligan will officiate. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

Archiebald H. Schlapfer was born September 28, 1914 in Arlington. He lived his entire life in Arlington.

He served in the United States Army from August 18, 1941 to December 31, 1945, serving in the South Pacific during World War II.

Prior to going into the service he worked at Marshall Nursery. After returning from the war he went to work in the grocery store at Arlington. He retired in 1992.

He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 8332 and American Legion Post No. 71, both of Arlington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johonnas and Tishia Hall Schlapfer; brothers, Herman, Richard, Clyde and Robert and sisters, Ann Dickmeyer and Nina.

He is survived by brothers, Jack of Arlington, Walter of Laughlin, Nevada, Albert of LaMesa, California and William of Salinas, California; a sister, Betty (Mrs. Virgil) Frye of Arlington and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Charles Hansen, Gary Timm, Leo Rosenkilde, Howard Scheer, Dennis Decker and Jerry Dortch.

Ruby House is organist.

Memorials may go to the American Legion Baseball program.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
