JAMES A. SCHLAPFER, 60

James A. Schlapfer, 60, of Fremont, died Wednesday, July 30, 2008, in Fremont.

Graveside services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, at Arlington Cemetery.

There is no visitation, but visitors may sign the register book from 9 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont.

James A. “Jim” Schlapfer was born Aug. 24, 1947, in Fremont to John J. “Jack” and Jane (Thomas) Schlapfer. He grew up in Arlington.

He worked for several auto dealerships in Omaha and the surrounding area and then drove a semi-truck for several companies. He moved to Fremont in 1993 and, most recently, had been employed by United Transport of Rogers.

He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Fremont. On July 3, 1993, he married Linda Campbell at the Presbyterian Church in Fremont. She survives him, as does a daughter, Catherine, of Fremont; brother and sister-in-law, Gary and Joann Schlapfer of Fremont; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Maynard Manka, and Mary and Russell Thomsen, all of Fremont; nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials are suggested to the Presbyterian Church of Fremont, or the Fremont Public Schools Foundation.
