RICHARD SCHLAPFER DIES LAST FRIDAY IN OMAHA

Services were held Tuesday, October 24, at 10 a.m., at Arlington Community Church for Richard E. Schlapfer who died Friday, October 20, in Omaha at the age of 65. Rev. Herbert Kelly officiated at the services. Burial was in the Arlington Cemetery.

Richard E. Schlapfer was born in Arlington to Jack and Tishia Hall Schlapfer on March 30, 1913. He was a lifetime resident of Arlington and on October 5, 1951, he married Arletta Gaines in Blair. He was a member of the Arlington Community Church.

He was employed by Marshall Nurseries for 50 years. He was a foreman at the Nurseries at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Arletta; one son, Allen Schlapfer; and one daughter, Amy Jo Schlapfer, all of Arlington. Seven brothers, Herman Schlapfer, Walter Schlapfer, Albert Schlapfer, all of California; Robert Schlapfer of Omaha, and Jack Schlapfer and Archie Schlapfer, both of Arlington and one sister, Mrs. Virgil (Betty) Frye, of Arlington, also survive him.

Mrs. Alvin Voss was organist for the services.

Pall bearers were Keith Meier, Kenny Frye, Gordon Spangler, Howard Edmondson, Richard Pojar and Wilfred Genopir.

Memorials may be sent to the Arlignton Community Church or to the American Cancer Society.
