LAURA SCHMALE IS BURIED IN ST. PAUL CEMETERY

Mrs. Laura Schmale, age 77, was buried in St. Paul’s Cemetery near Arlington on Friday, October 20, following her death in Tempe, Arizona, on Monday, October 16. Mrs. Schmale was 77 at the time of her death.

Services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church north of Arlington. Pastor Robert Backhus officiated at the services.

Laura Schmale was born in Arlington on November 7, 1900, to William and Louise Stork Dahlkoetter. She married Henry Schmale on October 20, 1926, at Grant, Nebraska.

She had moved to Tempe recently from Santa Barbara, California. She previously lived at North Bend, Nebraska and Arlington. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church when she lived at Arlington.

Her husband, Henry, preceded her in death in September, 1945.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Katherine) Madland, Tempe, Arizona; and one granddaughter. Six brothers, Ernest Dahlkoetter, Lindsay, California; Arthur Dahlkoetter, Santa Barbara, California; Harry Dahlkoetter, Albuquerque, New Mexico; Melvin Dahlkoetter, Alfred Dahlkoetter, and Clarence Dahlkoetter, all of Grant, Nebraska; and three sisters, Mrs. Otto (Alvina) Greunke, Grant, Nebraska; Mrs. Paul (Elsie) Knecht of Arlington and Mrs. Adela Knecht of Arlington, also survive her.

Organist for the services was George Bluma.

Pall bearers were Ed Gnuse, Ed Stork, Harlan Stork, Harold Stork, Everett Stork, and Wilfred Stork.

Memorials may be sent to Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Tempe, Arizona.

Reckmeyers Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
