CAROL SCHMIDT, 69

Carol Schmidt, 69, of Blair, died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at Crowell Memorial Home in Blair.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 27, with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

Carol Frye was born June 20, 1939, in Herman to Ethel (Vaughn) and Carol “Perk” Frye. She graduated from Herman High School in 1956.

On Sept. 16, 1961, she married Elmer Schmidt.

Mrs. Schmidt worked many years at Pamida and retired from there in 2007 when she was diagnosed with cancer. She loved being around her family and friends, she also loved to play bingo and read books.

She was a beloved wife, wonderful mother and awesome grandma and great-grandma. She is survived by her husband, Elmer; daughters and son-in-law, Peggie Ogle and Rhonda and Rick Hillman, and sons, Phillip Andersen and Shane Schmidt, all of Blair; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
