DELORES SCHMIDT, 68
Delores E. Schmidt, 68, of Schuyler, died May 23, 1998, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.
Services were May 26s at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Schuyler with the Rev. Donald Legacie officiating. Burial was at Prairie View Cemetery near Kennard.
Pallbearers were Matt Kroeger, Rod Flogstad, Ed Hardesty, Leon Schmidt, Lloyd Rohwer and Merle Bassett. Honorary pallbearers were Allen Rasmussen, Marv Kroeger, Wally Thompson, Jack Lorenzen, Warren Sunds and Floyd Schmidt. Janet Meyer played the organ and Jack Seckman was the soloist.
Delores D. Tietgen was born on Dec. 27, 1929, to Henry and Elvira (Sunds) Tietgen in Washington County. She attended a rural Washington County School and graduated from Blair High School in 1947.
She married Leonard Schmidt on June 25, 1959, at Kountz Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha.
The couple moved from Wayne to Schuyler in 1966. She worked at Cunningham Drug for 17 years. She had also worked as an Avon Lady.
She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and Eastern Star in Schuyler. She also served as a mother advisor for Rainbow Girls.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; daughters, Kerri (Mrs. Ed) Hardesty of Appleton City, Mo., and Audrey (Mrs. Rod) Flogstad of Holstein, Iowa; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Andy; and sister, Opal Kroeger.
