Services were Monday, October 30 at First Lutheran CHurch in Blair for Lucile Marie Schmidt, 76 of Blair and formerly of Sterling, Nebraska, who died October 26, 1995 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Burial was in the Sterling Cemetery in Sterling.

Lucile Marie Schmidt was born August 10, 1919 in Sterling to Henry C. and Barbara Genzlinger Seele. She was baptized on September 7, 1919 and confirmed on April 9, 1933 at the St. John's Lutheran Church in Sterling. She graduated from Sterling High School in 1937.

She taught school in the rural Sterling area from 1937 to 1944. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Sterling Public Schools from 1963 to 1978. She then worked at Miller and Paine Department Store in their Accounts Payable Department in Lincoln from 1980 to 1985.

She was a lifelong resident of Sterling until moving to Blair with her husband, Raymond November 20, 1990. She was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church in Sterling until moving to Blair where she joined the First Lutheran Church.

She married Raymond Schmidt September 17, 1944 at Sterling.

She was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Walter, Louis and Harold. She is survived by her husband, Raymond of Blair; a son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Dorothy of Blair; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Ann and Keith Janssen of Ottawa, Kansas; Donna Mae and Dennis Awtry of North Platte, Nebraska and five grandsons.

Memorials may be directed to the Diabetes Foundation. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
