The community was shocked to learn of the death of one of its oldest residents, Peter Christensen, which occurred Sunday morning, December 23. He had been ailing for a few days owing to having an attack of the flu, but was that morning feeling some better. He had gone out to feed his chickens that morning when he fell. R. H. Rasmussen, a neighbor, seeing him, ran to help but death had claimed its victim. Mr. Christensen expired instantly. He is survived by two sons, Charles and John, who both reside in the west. No funeral arrangements have been made as yet, waiting for the arrival of the sons for plans.

He came to America in 1867, first locating in Wisconsin where he remained for about a year. Mr. and Mrs. Christensen moved to a farm four miles west of Herman where they resided until 1894. They then sold their farm and came to town where they purchased their home in which they lived until death claimed them. Mrs. Christensen passed away February 24, 1927.
