Jimmy C. Wyrick Sr., 67

Funeral services for Jimmy C. Wyrick, Sr., 67 of Missouri Valley, Iowa, were held Nov. 1, 2001, at Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley. Interment was a Frazier Cemetery in Missouri Valley. Mr. Wyrick died Oct. 29 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

Jimmy C. Wyrick, Sr., was born Dec. 23, 1933, in Addington, Okla., to Garlin and Berdie (Cox) Wyrick.

He graduated from Comanche High School, and worked as a farmer and in the oil fields before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1953. He served on the U.S.S. Wisconsin for almost six years.

On Feb. 14, 1959, he married M. Theresa Bubenik in Brooklyn, N.Y.

After leaving the Navy, Mr. Wyrick went to work for United Airlines in Newark, N.J. He moved his family to Missouri Valley in 1968, and he retired from United Airlines in 1993.

Mr. Wyrick enjoyed fishing, traveling, and his grandchildren.

He is survived by his children, Theresa Tobin of Troy, Ill., Jimmy C. Wyrick, Jr. of Missouri Valley, Catherine Thomas of Council Bluffs, Iowa, John Wyrick of Lone Tree, Iowa, Andrew Wyrick of Houston, Texas, and Dorothy Reynolds of Kennard, one brother, Earl Wyrick of Comanche, Okla., sisters, Barbara Tucker of Duncan, Okla., Shirley Anderson of Enid Okla,, Josephine Martin, Patricia Wyrick and Jane Varnell of Duncan, Okla,, 11 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Theresa, a brother, James, and a sister, Dorothy.

Hennessey-Aman Funeral Home in Missouri Valley was in charge of arrangements.
