The funeral of Archibald Hastle who left this life the Saturday before, was held in the chapel of the Home on Wednesday afternoon at about 1:30 p.m., and the casket remained in the chapel until quite late in the afternoon as the undertaker who had charge of funeral arrangements had another funeral in the country, and I presume it was late before he returned from the burial of the other party.

Mr. Bendorf’s brother was present and had charge of affairs here. Dr. J.G. Shick preached the funeral sermon, and Rev. W.H. Underwood read the obituary of the deceased. There were four relatives present from Auburn, Mr. Hastle’s old home. Miss Ethel Mead and Mrs. Hancock sang while Mrs. W.H Underwood officiated at the piano.

Mr. Hastle came to the Home last May, but for several days before his death, he had not been able to come to the table for his meals.
