WM. KLINDT DIED TUESDAY

WORD RECEIVED YESTERDAY OF HIS DEATH IN KANE VALLEY, SASK., CANADA

Fred Soll received word yesterday of the death in Kane Valley, Canada, of William Klindt, aged 76, and the body is to be sent to Ft. Calhoun for burial the latter part of the week. The funeral services will be held in the Presbyterian church.

Mrs. Louis Lund of Ft. Calhoun is a daughter. Another daughter, Mrs. Richard O’Brien, lives at Osmond, Neb., and two sons and two daughters live in Canada, Henry and Arthur Klindt, Mrs. Oscar and Mrs. Ed Dulien. His wife is also living but none of the family will accompany the body here for burial.

Mr. Klindt was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, Sept. 29th, 1851. He came to America when a young lad and lived near Fort Calhoun for a number of years, going to Canada some fourteen years ago. He was married here to Miss Caroline Soll, a sister of Fred Soll of this city, in Ft. Calhoun in 1881 and they lived near there for some years.

Besides the wife and the six children living, there were five who preceded him in death. He leaves one brother, Eggert Klindt, of Council Bluffs, Ia., and several sisters, whose names we didn’t learn.

His daughter, Mrs. Lund, received a letter from him just before Christmas, in which he said he wasn’t well, but his death was very unexpected and must have been quite sudden, for they knew nothing of any serious illness.

William Klindt was born Sept. 29, 1851, in Schleswig Holstein, Germany, and came to the United States in 1869, locating in the vicinity of Omaha and Ft. Calhoun, some years later purchasing the farm now owned by Geo. Thimm, south of Ft. Calhoun.
