Lila F. Bartlett, 90

Lila F. Bartlett, 90, of Fremont died Sunday, April 21, 2013, in Merrick Manor under the care of hospice.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, 25, at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Visitation at the mortuary will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery.

Lila F. Sorensen was born February 12, 1923, in Arlington to Chris and Lovina (Winset) Sorensen.

She attended Whitford School and graduated from Arlington High School in 1940.

On October 19, 1941, she married Elmer "Al" Bartlett.

While Mr. Bartlett served in the U.S. Army, they lived in Colorado before his transfer overseas. Following the war, they lived in California, Arlington, Ralston, Valley, and Fremont.

For several years, Mrs. Bartlett owned and operated Freddie's Café in Arlington. After moving to Ralston, she worked for Field Paper Co. as an executive secretary. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her home and family.

She had belonged to the Methodist Church in Arlington in the early years, participating in youth work, church circle groups, and chairman of the cradle roll. She belonged to the Whats So Ever Club. She also served as a den mother and worked with the American Red Cross. She was a member of the Junior League and the Fremont Alliance Church.

She was an avid bridge player and received great enjoyment visiting with her friends and family. She is survived by a daughter, Alberta Bartlett of Fremont; two sons and daughters-in-law, Alfred and Emily Bartlett of Phoenix, Ariz., and Jerry and Denise Bartlett of Omaha; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters and brother-in-law, Phyllis Brunmeier of Omaha and Alice and Dick Hayes of Topeka, Kans.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Al in July of 2011; an infant daughter, five brothers and two sisters.

Memorials are suggested to the Louis E. May Museum and to the Fremont Area Medical Center Hospice.
