Arlene Inez Miller, 85

Arlene Inez Miller, 85, of Tekamah, died Sunday, April 21, 2013, surrounded by her loving family at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 25, at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Home in Tekamah. Visitation will continue Thursday at the church one hour prior to services. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Sunrise Cemetery at Wahoo.

Arlene Inez Milton was born May 26, 1927, in Malmo to Fred and Inez (Pearson) Milton.

She graduated from Malmo High School in Malmo.

On November 30, 1949, she married Kenneth H. Miller of Ithaca. They lived in Wahoo until moving to Tekamah in 1971. To this union four children were born.

Mrs. Miller was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Tekamah.

Her many joys were spending time going to sporting events of children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She had a passion for baking, passing on family traditions and recipes, going to the casino with her sons, doing puzzles, camping, and most of all, spending time with family, especially on holidays. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; and sister, Jean.

She is survived by her children, Connie (Frank) Jacobs of Ceresco, Ron Miller of Lincoln and special friend Anita Schmidt of Fairbury, Gregg Miller of Tekamah and Jody (Ron) Johnson of Arlington; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; and 3 step-great-grandchildren.
