Peter A. Miller
Died on 1/8/1929
Buried in Herman Cemetery

#1-Pilot, January 16, 1929

Peter A. Miller, who had been in the University hospital at Omaha for several weeks suffering from a complication of diseases passed away Tuesday morning of the past week. He was born June 6, 1878 near Hooper in Dodge county and passed away January 8, 1929, at the age of 50 years, 7 months and 2 days. He was married to Miss Emma Eliza Janssen, of Hooper, August 28, 1901. They resided in that community for nearly three years. Since then they have lived in Washington county in and about Herman. About a year ago he was taken ill with serious heart trouble and since that time had been unable to work very much. On November 14, 1928, he was taken to the University hospital for treatment and for a short time he responded to that treatment and seemed to improve, only to weaken again which he continued to do until he passed away.

He is survived by his wife, two sons and five daughters, Mrs. Clayton Sheets, Mrs. Addison Metzler, Walter, Viola Roma, Lester and Maxine, all of Herman. One son, twelve years of age, passed away September 14, 1927, at the same hospital. Mr. Miller also leaves four grandchildren; one brother, Ed Miller of Omaha; and two sisters, Mrs. Dare of Omaha, and Mrs. John Dick, of Gary, Indiana, besides many friends.

The funeral services were held at the Baptist church Thursday afternoon, Rev. P.H. Peterson officiating. Mrs. C.E. Johnson, Mrs. Geo. Lowe, Fred Robertson and C.R. Gray with Mrs. Peterson as pianist furnished music. Interment was made in the Herman cemetery.

(Note: the obituary indicates that survivors include 7 children but it seems only 6 are listed. Perhaps a comma between two names {Viola and Roma} is needed.)
