SUPT. MYERS LOSES MOTHER

The mother of Supt. Myers, who has made her home with him for several years, died Saturday and the funeral was held Monday afternoon, the services being conducted by Rev. C.P. Lang, of Tilden, her former pastor, assisted by Rev. Lewis of the local M.E. church.

Mary McDaniels was born at Crawfordsville, Indiana, September 6, 1841, where she passed her school days, later going to Iowa, where she was united in marriage to T.S. Myers. She taught school approximately 25 years in Iowa and 14 years in Ponca, Nebraska, and for three years of this time she and her son (the present superintendent of the Blair schools) taught in the same building. Besides her most efficient work in the schools her principal activities were in the Methodist Episcopal church, the W.C.T.U. and the W.R.C. In all these places, she served with a true devotion equaled by but few.

She was the oldest of a family of ten children, and two of these preceeded her to that Great Beyond during the past year. Her oldest brother, Frank McDaniels, of Winterset, Iowa, who is 81 years of age, is the only one who was enabled to be present at the funeral. Her husband passed to his reward two years ago.

Victory crowns such a life that was lived for others in reclaiming this world for the Kingdom. Always forgetting herself, she was the counterpart of her Master, and while her toils and worries of this life are over, those left behind rest in the conviction that she is now reaping the reward her life on this earth so richly deserved.
