FRED PEDERSEN DIED TUESDAY

PASSED AWAY AFTER A LONG ILLNESS FROM DIABETES AND FUNERAL HELD THURSDAY MORNING

Fred Pedersen passed away at the home of Arthur Kjellin, South Center street, at about 7 o’clock Tuesday evening, July 3rd, following a long illness from diabetes.

The funeral service was conducted this Thursday morning, at the Bendorf Funeral Parlors by Rev. H. Nielsen at 9 o’clock and the body was taken to his old home at Winside, Neb., for burial by the side of his wife, whose death occurred several years ago.

Mr. Pedersen was born in Thorning, Westermark, Denmark, Dec. 15th, 1864, so was 63 years, 7 months and 18 days old when he died. He came to this country about 40 years ago and lived in Blair for a number of years, later moving onto a farm near Winside.

He was united in marriage to Miss Mary Pedersen and two children were born to them, Mrs. Verne J. Gustason, of this city, and Mrs. Gifford Pruner, of Kennard. After the death of his wife at Winside, he removed to this city and was being taken care of by Mr. and Mrs. Kjellin.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. W.W. Bowland, of Tekamah, and several sisters and brothers in Denmark.

Frederick Pedersen died at his home in this city on Tuesday morning after a lingering illness. The deceased was born in Denmark and had lived in Blair for many years. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Verne Gustason of this city and Mrs. Gifford Pruner of Kennard. The body was taken to Winside this morning and laid to rest in the cemetery near there.

FRED PEDERSEN DIES

WAS RESIDENT OF WASHINGTON COUNTY FOR MANY YEARS

Frederick Pedersen was born in Thorning, Westermack, Denmark, on December 15, 1864, and died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Verne Gustason, on July 3, following a long suffering from diabetes. The deceased came to this county about forty years ago and lived near Blair for a number of years after which he removed to Winside where he farmed for a number of years. He was united in marriage to Mary Petersen and to this union two children were born, both of whom survive.

He was widely known in this city where he had a host of friends who will greatly mourn his loss. His wife died several years ago. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Verne J. Gustason of this city and Mrs. Gifford Pruner of Kennard; a sister, Mrs. W.W. Bowland of Tekamah; eight grandchildren and several brothers and sisters in Denmark.

Funeral services were conducted last Thursday from the church at Winside after which interment was made in the cemetery near the church.
