Lorraine E. Fluckey Wilkening, 93

Lorraine E. Fluckey Wilkening, 93, of Papillion, formerly of Fremont, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Huntington Park Care Center in Papillion.

A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 16, 2013, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. There is no visitation. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Lorraine E. Fluckey was born March 22, 1920, in Sterling, Colo., to Harold W. and Leila A. (Shackelford) Giberson.

She grew up in Danning and graduated from Danning High School in 1937.

She lived in Fremont before moving to Arlington in 1945. She returned to Fremont in 1990.

In 2004, Lorraine moved to Plattsmouth and lived there for several years and then moved to Huntington Park Care Center in Papillion.

On March 21, 1938, she married Leyn Fluckey in Ainsworth. Mr. Fluckey died September 14, 1982.

On November 1, 1992, she married Clarence Wilkening at Salem Lutheran Church in Fontanelle. Mr. Wilkening died February 13, 2005.

She was a member of the former First Congregational Church in Arlington where she was baptized on April 10, 1949. She was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church at Fontanelle and the church circle. She was also a member of the Eagles Auxiliary in Fremont and V.F.W. Auxiliary at Arlington.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, crocheting, knitting afghans and creating ceramic pieces for her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime was listening to music and going dancing with her husband.

During her final years at Huntington Park Care Center, she enjoyed various groups who came in and joined in singing old favorite hymns. She also enjoyed chapel services on Sunday afternoons, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James E. and Eula Fluckey of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother-in-law, Gordan Fluckey of Hastings; sister-in-law, Loreta Giberson of Urbana, Mo.; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and cousin, Lila Williams of Merna.

She was preceded in death by her husbands; son, Leyn R. Fluckey; brother, Harold M. Giberson; and sister, Clella Frolio.
