FORMER BLAIR WOMAN DIED IN CALIFORNIA FEB. 1

Mrs. J.B. Spellman, a one-time resident of Blair, died at Gardena, California February 1st. Mrs. Spellman, 77, died in the Gardena convalescent hospital. She lived at 2419 W. 154th Street, Gardena, California.

She was born in Hastings, Nebraska, Sept. 24, 1893, and had lived in Gardena 19 years. She was a member of Alondra Park United Methodist Church. Mrs. Spellman is survived by her husband; a son, Robert E. Spellman of Gardena; two daughters, Bernice Bennett of Anaheim and Alberta Kohfeld of Torrance; six grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Feb. 4 in the Chapel of the Chimes, Inglewood Cemetery Mortuary, with the Rev. Raymond Moore of Alondra Park United Methodist Church officiating. Interment was at Inglewood Park Cemetery.

Mr. Spellman will be remembered by many of Blair’s older residents. While here the family was very active in the affairs of the First Christian Church and he took an interest in Boy Scout work.
