Mrs. Amos W. Spencer died at the Blair hospital Monday and the funeral will be held at the Baptist church at 2 o’clock today, Rev. C. M. Foreman officiating. Melinda Christian was born in Gentry county, Ind., Jan. 17th, 1842, and was married there to Amos W. Spencer Feb. 29th, 1862. They came to Nebraska and settled on a homestead in Grant township, this county, July 5th, 1869 and that was their home until February, 1899, when Mrs. Spencer moved to this city, which has been her home ever since. Mr. Spencer is now living in Thomas, Okla. Of this union eleven children were born, nine of whom are now living: Wm. T. of Crescent City, Calif.; Ozias A. of Walla Walla, Wash.; A.K. of Globe, Arizona; Mrs. John Weaver of Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Hattie M. Beaty of Tacoma, Wash.; John W. of Oakville, Wash.; Mrs. LeRoy E. Hampton of St. Paul, Neb., and Miss Lilly A. Spencer of this city.

DIES AT HOSPITAL: Mrs. Malinda Spencer died at the Blair hospital Monday, Aug. 2, after an illness covering several weeks.

Deceased was born in Indiana in 1842 and was 73 years old at the time of her death. She was the mother of eleven children, nine of whom are living. Funeral was held Wednesday at 2 o’clock at the Baptist church, with interment in Blair cemetery.
