GEO. STEWART DIES SUDDENLY

WORD RECEIVED LAST THURSDAY EVENING OF HIS DEATH AT VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON

The sad news came over the wires last Thursday night to Mrs. Stewart’s brother, John Strode, who is night man at the depot, that George died suddenly that evening of heart failure.

George went out there only a few months ago and was employed in a paper mill. He liked it so well that he sent for the family, consisting of his wife and three children, Jean, James and Nellie, to go out, which they did some three weeks ago, and the home was established out there among strangers.

He was home in the evening seemingly as well as usual, though it was known he had heart trouble. At about 10 o’clock he had a heart attack and fell over dead. The funeral was held out there Sunday under Masonic auspices, he being a member of Washington Lodge No. 21, A.F. and A.M. of this city.

George was born in this city January 28th, 1875, so was just 52 years of age. He was married to Miss Pearl Strode in this city May 9th, 1911 and three children were born to them, as above given. Besides these he leaves his aged mother, resident at Crowell Home, who was 92 years old the 15th day of last December, and one sister, Mrs. Jas. R. Smith of this city.

The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of many friends as they are left among strangers so far away from their old home and relatives.
