Funeral services will be at 10 AM Tuesday, September 11 at the Congregational Church for Iola M. Schmidt, age 92, of Blair who died at Good Shepherd Home September 6, 1990. Rev. Harold Schaible will officiate. Burial will be at the Blair Cemetery.

Iola Margaret Miller was born on September 3, 1898 at Davenport, Nebraska to Milton B. and Margret Surber Miller. She attended and graduated from Davenport High School in 1916. After receiving her college Normal Teachers certificate, she taught fourth grade in the Blair schools for a number of years.

Iola married Carl J. Schmidt on April 4, 1925. He was an officer of the Blair State Bank and later was in the insurance and real estate business in Blair. He died July 7, 1969.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and and Gary L Kahler of Coto de Caza, California; Three grandchildren, Kipton Shawn, Kimberly Ann and Tige Karlton Kahler all of Coto de Caza and a sister Phyllis Harrison of Greeley, Colorado.
