Ellen L. Boever, 70

Ellen L. Boever, 70, of Omaha, formerly of Tekamah, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013, at Hospice House in Omaha after a short battle with cancer.

A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Country Bible Church north of Blair. Interment will be in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Ellen Lorraine Gaver was born June 24, 1942, in Lyons to Ernest and Frieda (Moeller) Gaver. She attended District 29 School near Tekamah and Bucktown School near Craig. She attended Tekamah High School for two years and then Herman High School in Herman.

On Nov. 21, 1961, she married Glenn Conklin and they had three children, Laure, Ernest, and Todd.

On Dec. 18, 1975, she married Jerome "Tom" Boever and they had one daughter, Tammy.

For many years, she enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom, then returned to the workforce as a CNA.

Following her retirement, she lived in Craig until moving to Omaha with Tammy.

She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Tekamah and attended Country Bible Church in Blair for many years.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Laure Eccleston of South Carolina, Tammy and Stan Klein of Omaha; son, Todd Conklin of Winslow; sisters, Helen Hohenstein of Lyons and Lorena Haswell of Oxford, Iowa; brother and sister-in-law, Dale and Vicki Gaver of Blair; stepdaughters, Sharon Beaty of Buchanan, Ga., Elaine (Richard) Will of Milbank, S.D., and Evadine (Harold) Uhing of Papillion; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Tom; son, Ernest Conklin; niece, Robin Goree; sisters, Mabel Katt and Ruth Fisher; and brother, Clinton Gaver.

Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, Nebraska Humane Society or Country Bible Church.

Pelan Funeral Services in Tekamah is in charge of arrangements.
