Joseph R. Exley, 81, of rural Fort Calhoun, died Saturday, May 8, 1999.

Visitation is 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, at Roeder Mortuary, 50th and Ames Avenue, in Omaha. Services will be at the same location at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 12, with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Joseph R. Exley was born Nov. 21, 1918, in rural Iowa to Joseph F. and Carma Exley. His parents preceded him in death as did a sister, Joann, and three brothers, Robert, Warren and Laurel, in addition to a grandson, Mark J. Exley.

Survivors include his wife Deloris; son and daughter-in-law Ronald and Barbara Exley; son and daughter-in-law Edwin and Barbara Exley of Council Bluffs, Iowa, daughter and son-in-law Janice and Patrick Workman, all of rural Fort Calhoun; brother and sister-in-law Bill and Jean Exley of Wichita, Kan. and other in-laws.

He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
