Mrs. Lars Hansen died of cancer of the breast at 5:30 Sunday afternoon, having suffered with it for over two years. She had one operation and it was better for some time, but came back again. Recently she tried the radium treatment in Omaha, but it made her so sick she couldn’t stand it. The funeral is to be held at the Danish church at 1 o’clock today, Rev. H.J. Kjoeller officiating. She was born in Jylland, Denmark, June 22, 1849, and was therefore not yet 66 years of age. She was married there to Lars Hansen and they came to America in 1884, settling first in Omaha, coming to Blair in 1901. Besides the husband, who is associated with P.C. Sorensen in the Blair mill, she leaves an only son, Mads G. Hansen, who lives on a farm four miles southeast of town. They lost two small children in Denmark and one in this country. The sorrowing husband and son have the sympathy of their many friends in their bereavement.
