MRS. KIRSTINE JOHNSON PASSES

DIED AT THE HOME OF HER DAUGHTER, MISS CAROLINE, LAST FRIDAY, 78 YRS, 2 MO. 25 DAYS

Mrs. Kirstine Johnson passed away at the home of her daughter, Miss Caroline Johnson, instructor at Dana College, on College Hill, last Friday at the advanced age of 78 years, 2 months and 25 days.

She had been an invalid for the past ten years but bore her suffering with such patience and fortitude that she won the respect and admiration of all who knew her.

The funeral service was held at the Danish church at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon, her pastor, Rev. H. Nielsen officiating. The body was taken to her old home at Hampton, Neb., for interment by the side of her husband whose death occurred in 1917.

Deceased was born in Raaby, Moen, Denmark, March 18th, 1850, and was married there to Neils P. Johnson in 1876. They came to this country in 1882 and spent their first three years in Chicago. They removed to Hampton, Neb., and later to near Marquette, Nebr., which was their home until the death of Mr. Johnson in 1917. Since that time Mrs. Johnson has made her home with her daughter here.

She was the mother of six children, two of whom died in infancy. One son, Carl, died in 1922. Two sons and one daughter survive, James P. of Aurora, Neb.; Louis of Brunswick, Neb.; and Miss Caroline of this city.
