Robert Lee Beckman, 56
Robert Lee Beckman, 56, of Lincoln, died Thursday, May 9, 2013, at Bryan West Hospital in Lincoln.
Mass of Christian burial was Monday, May 13, at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church in Blair.
Robert Lee Beckman was born December 20, 1956, in Omaha, to Alfred and Mary Lou (Eckrich) Beckman. He attended kindergarten in Herman and schooling in Beatrice.
He loved attending any sporting event that he could. He especially enjoyed football and basketball games, and was known as the Blair High School football team Super Fan.
He loved spending time with his brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews during the holidays. He liked traveling with his family, watching Lawrence Welk, and going to rummage sales and thrift stores. He was known to never let his parents forget his birthday.
He is survived by his parents, Alfred and Mary Lou Beckman, sisters and brother-in-law, Mary and Bruce Perry of San Diego, Calif., and Joanne Streit of Gowrie, Iowa; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jerry and Kathy Beckman of Houston, Texas, and John and Jean Beckman of Blair; four nephews and two nieces.
Memorials may be directed in his name to the Blair Community Schools Foundation: Athletics Department, or to the Special Olympics of Nebraska, 11011 Q Street, Suite 104C, Omaha, NE 68137.
Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair was in charge of arrangements.
