Mrs. Mackin Funeral Held

Lifetime Blairite Died Friday; Catholic Services Are Held

Mrs. Patrick Mackin, 68, native and lifetime resident of the Blair area, died early last Friday at the family farm home south of Blair in the Maney district. She had been ill for a number of years.

Funeral services were held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, the Rev. William P. Connor officiating. Interment under the direction of the Campbell Mortuary, followed in Holy Cross Cemetery here.

Mrs. Mackin was born Apr. 8, 1880, as Ellen Murray. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Murray, who had come here from Ireland. As a young woman, she was married to Mr. Mackin, who also had come here from the old country.

Surviving Mrs. Mackin are her husband; two sons, Patrick, Jr., and John Mackin, both of Blair; a daughter, Miss Gertrude Mackin, at home; two grandchildren, Larry and Patricia Mackin, children of the John Mackins; a brother, Daniel Murray of Blair; and a sister, Mrs. Anna Lewis of Washington, D. C. Mrs. Mackin was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Tom and Richard Murray, and a sister, Mrs. David Tivis.

#2-17 June, 1948 - The Enterprise - Ellen “Nellie” (Murray) Mackin

Mrs. Patrick Mackin, who for the past twelve years had been a semi invalid, died in her home south of Blair last Friday morning, June 11th.

As Miss Nellie Murray she was born on the old Patrick Murray homestead just west of Blair on April 8, 1880. She attended the Blair High School from which she graduated in the class of 1899.

Shortly after this she married Patrick Mackin and to this union three children were born, Patrick, John and Richard, all living. These with the husband and two grandchildren, Larry and Patricia, are left to mourn a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Besides the immediate family she leaves one brother, Daniel Murray of Blair, and one sister, Mrs. Anna Lewis of Washington, D.C.

Funeral rites were held last Saturday morning at the Catholic church in Blair with Fr. Connor officiating, and interment was made in the Blair cemetery.
