Funeral Rites For Albert Madsen, Sr. Held Wednesday

Funeral services were held Wednesday for Albert Madsen Sr., of the Herman area who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair Saturday, November 4th.

He was a life-long resident of Washington County, having been born at Kennard on December 18, 1891. He would have been 81 years old next month.

He was married to Anna Andersen, November 26, 1919 in Blair and has spent his entire life on farms of the area.

He is survived by his wife, Anna and by three daughters and two sons.

The daughters are Miss Esther Madsen of Herman, Mrs. George Bray (Irma) of Ft. Calhoun; Mrs. Earl Wulf (Lucille) of Blair.

The sons are Albert Madsen, Jr. of Blair and Darrel Madsen, of Fremont. There are 19 grandchildren.

Mrs. Chris Korshoj of Herman and Mrs. Ella Mencke, of Blair are sisters of the deceased man. He has four brothers, Harry, Elmer, Nels and Walter Madsen, all of Blair.

Funeral services were held Wednesday at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. Sanford Sorgen conducting the service. Burial was made in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Ralph Madsen, Earl Korshoj, Frank Korshoj, Elmer Andersen, Dwight Wubbenhorst and Howard Larsen.
