Burl Madsen, 78

Former Blair resident Burl Madsen, 78, died Sept. 5, 2005, in Atlanta, Ga. Funeral services were Sept. 7, in Atlanta.

Burl Madsen, and his twin brother, Murl, were born June 20, 1927, to Harold and Selma Madsen. He graduated from Blair High School in 1945. After graduation, both Burl and Murl served for two years in the United States Navy.

They spent many years singing at different places in the Blair area.

He is survived by his son, Greg; step-daughter and husband, Susan and Rudy Pardue; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren, all of the Atlanta area.

He is also survived by his brothers, Murl, of Mesa, Ariz., Donald, of Stillwater, Minn., Robert, of Surprise, Ariz.; sisters, Lois Donaldson of Boulder City, Nev., and Harriett Pitt of Blair; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judy, his brothers, Chic, Chuck, Jack, and his sister, Betty.
