Services For Judge Madsen Will Be Thurs.

Funeral services for 84 year old Harold J. Madsen will be on Thursday, May 17th at 2 p.m. Mr. Madsen died at the Blair Memorial Community Hospital on Monday, May 14th.

The services will be at the First Lutheran Church with the Rev. John Petersen officiating. Burial will be at the Blair Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Campbell Funeral Home.

Judge Madsen was born in Blair, Nebraska, on February 24, 1895. He was married to Selma Hansen and the couple lived at 1839 Park Street in Blair.

Mr. Madsen had been in the hatchery business in Blair for many years. He later was appointed to the office of Washington County Judge. He held that position until his retirement.

Judge Madsen was a Master Mason of the Kennard Lodge, Charter member of the Blair Lions Club, 25 years in the scouting program, on the Selective Service Board, Clerk of District Court from 1938-1943, City Councilman and County Judge from 1943 to 1967.

He is survived by his wife Selma Madsen of Blair, seven boys, three daughters, 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

The children are: Harold Jr., Blair; Charles of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Donald (Doc) of Stillwater, Minnesota; Murl of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Burl of Atlanta, Georgia; Jack of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Robert of Blair; Mrs. Harriett Pitt, Denver, Colorado; Betty Madsen of Atlanta, Georgia; and Mrs. Fred (Lois) Donaldson of Port Washington, New York.

Pallbearers had not been named as this issue went to press.
