Edna Louise Hunt, 95

Edna Louise Hunt, 95, of Blair, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at the Carter House in Blair.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Blair Cemetery. She will be buried next to her husband, Emory C. Hunt Jr.

Edna Louise Good was born August 19, 1917, in Blair to Menno and Sophia (Carlson) Good.

She was a 1935 graduate of Blair High School and class valedictorian.

She worked at Blair Telephone Company for seven years following her graduation. She lived in Blair until her marriage on May 16, 1946, to Emory C. Hunt Jr., in Fremont. They were married 48 years at the time of his death.

When Mr. Hunt purchased the Bassett-Springview Telephone Company in 1946, they moved to Bassett, where he managed the company and Mrs. Hunt ran the switchboard and handled the bookkeeping.

In 1949, they moved to Grant, where he became the Western District manager of the Central Nebraska Telephone Company.

In 1951, they returned to Blair, where Mr. Hunt became the vice president of Hunt Telephone Properties, and then president in 1968. They lived in Blair until Mr. Hunt’s death in 1994 and Mrs. Hunt’s death in 2013.

The couple was fond of their many Toy Manchester Terrier dogs. They spent many summers at their cabin in Canada at the Lake of the Woods and winters in Florida.

She is survived by two step-sons, Richard and Hugh Hunt and their wives, their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory; her sister, Erna Good; and a brother and sister-in-law, George and Jean Good.

Memorials may be directed to the Blair Fire Department, Blair Rescue Squad or the Jeanette Hunt Animal Shelter.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.

Age 95. Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband Emory, her parents, her sister Erna Good, and her brother George Good and his wife, Jean Good. She is survived by two stepsons, Richard and Hugh Hunt and their wives, their children and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 2pm Friday at the Blair Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are to be directed to the Blair Fire Department, Blair Rescue Squad or the Jeanette Hunt Animal Shelter. Campbell-Aman Funeral Home, Blair, NE.
