Richard P. Hineline, 80

Richard P. Hineline, 80, of Blair, died from pulmonary fibrosis on Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at Crowell Memorial Home under the care of hospice.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 20, at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Sunday at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Richard P. Hineline was born December 22, 1932, in Omaha.

He attended local schools and graduated from Blair High School in 1950.

In 1951, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served most of his three-year term of enlistment at White Sands Proving Grounds in New Mexico.

On August 8, 1959, he married Joan Steenson of Montevideo, Minn. Most of their nearly 54-year married life was spent living in Blair.

Mr. Hineline was primarily a construction worker and retired from the boilermaker trade at the age of 55. He then worked for Lozier Corporation in Omaha. Upon leaving Lozier, he worked part time mowing fairways at the local golf course for 11 years.

He is survived by his wife, Joan of Blair; two daughters and their families, Penny Johnson (Brian and Jennifer) of Blair and Patty and Dan Melanson (Ryan) of Omaha; and son and family, Rick and Samantha Hineline (Harrison and Keaton) of Boerne, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Waine and Agnes Allen; half-brother, Herman Allen; son-in-law, Tim Johnson; and brother-in-law, Wally Steenson.

Memorials may be directed to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Blair or the American Lung Association.
